matelec-final

Over the last couple of years European Circuits has seen a significant increase in customers from Spain. This has alerted the company to the fact that the UK is competitive in terms of exporting to the region. A combination of price and the added accreditation the company has invested in and worked hard to achieve seems to be giving Spanish clients that extra push to try out a Scottish PCB supplier.

In order to capitalise on a growing demand, the company decided to book flights and attend Matelec Exhibition in Madrid.

Neil and Philip set from Glasgow on Tuesday 25th October, 2016 with the objective of finding out as much as they could about Matelec Exhibition and the respective companies that were attending and exhibiting. This was very much a fact finding mission for the company.

On arrival at the exhibition, the guys were excited to see the scale of the event. There was 7 halls dedicated to all things electronics and building in general. Immediately, the question was asked “Where do we start?!”

Matelec is a huge exhibition so Neil and Philip decided to dedicate their first day covering 4 halls with a further 3 halls to look at the following day before flying home, which turned out to be a wise decision because there was so much to see and take in.

Overall, the exhibition really drove home to the ECL pair that there are many companies in Spain that European Circuits could and should be getting in touch with regards to PCB requirements. Many of the market sectors the company is involved in at the moment were represented:

  • Broadcast & Audio
  • Lighting
  • Control & Monitoring
  • Security
  • Internet of Things
  • Wearable Technologies

Inundated with new information the trip has proved to be a valuable exercise as the company looks to expand even further into Spain. Neil and Philip would like to thank all the friendly people they met at the exhibition, including staff from the Momit stand – Elena and Romain for their hospitality.
