This is probably one of the most unusual projects European Circuits have been involved with – an interactive light installation.
The finished piece is made up of illuminated brass rods, suspended from the ceiling in an arrangement of cubes. As people pass by, the lights follow, varying subtly in intensity. The person’s movement stimulates the behaviour of the lights, which in itself follows the rules of organic swarm behaviour.
European Circuits was delighted to be involved with this project and was originally contracted to produce the assembled boards. It quickly became clear to our customer that we could do more and following discussions, European Circuits produced the finished article which was shipped in special packaging direct to our customer in London or their final location.
Since starting work with this customer in 2010, European Circuits have been working closely with the client and produced several iterations of this job. It has been installed in various locations throughout the world, including London and New York. We’ve also worked on other specific requirements for this customer.
“Since starting to work with European Circuits on the production of the first prototype of the edition of the installation, we have been delighted by the flexible and quick response to our specialist requirements. In our installations, we do not hide any of the components that the pieces are made of, so the production quality has to be absolutely pristine. With European Circuits our expectations have always been exceeded, and we keep coming back to them with more business”
