Creating game changing technology requires intelligence & high quality electronics!

Halo Thermal Imaging design and manufacture innovative thermal imaging cameras and helmets for the fire, marine, first responder and industrial sectors. Their specialism is technology that enhances the night vision, situational awareness, personal safety and threat-detection capabilities of the user.

Mark Burton, Lead Electronics Engineer explains why they come to ECL for their Electronic assembly solutions “ECL are one of the few companies in the UK who can genuinely provide bare board manufacture AND assembly from a single location. We receive a speedy service at great quality but not only that, the communication is such that we feel at ease throughout the whole process.”

As one of ECL’s long term clients, Halo are provided with a diverse service, catering for all of their PCB needs.

One of the services carried out is BGA Assembly. This service is carried out in-house at ECL. For those unfamiliar with BGA (Ball Grid Array) technology, it is a type of surface-mount packaging (a chip carrier) used for integrated circuits. Conventional packages have connection pins around the periphery of the device, a BGA uses a matrix of solder balls on the underside of the device.

Halo Thermal Imaging offer industry leading devices; The “soloTI” (left), powered by the Halo Thermal Core is the only full-face fire helmet in the world with in built head up thermal imaging camera. This is used aboard cruise ships and super yachts. The “halo” (middle) The smallest and lightest helmet mounted thermal imaging camera in the world. Used for search and rescue and staff safety, adding visual enhancement towards absolute security. The “Aura” (right), is a binocular-style thermal camera with both long range and short range variants, is an ideal locator enhancement and patrol tool for maritime use.
